Holt News

Editorial guidelines

A short guide to the local news, announcements and updates HoltNow considers for publication.

What we look for

We welcome genuine, relevant news from Holt and the surrounding community. This can include local decisions, openings and closures, community developments, public-service updates, planning and development, schools and young people, charity and volunteering, arts and culture, and transport or access changes.

How we review it

Every submission is reviewed by a member of the HoltNow team. We may contact the person who submitted it or another named source to check important details. Publication is not guaranteed, and we may edit a story for accuracy, clarity, length and style.

What we do not normally publish

We do not normally publish rumours, unsupported allegations, personal attacks, private personal information, routine advertising, general complaints or material with no clear local relevance. Opinion, ideas and constructive discussion belong in Holt Voices.

Sources and attribution

We identify a public source or byline where appropriate. Supporting links and contact details supplied for verification are private and are not automatically published. Please only submit material you have permission to share.

Corrections and updates

If a published story needs a correction or significant update, the HoltNow team can amend the article and add a clear update note. We keep an internal editorial history of changes and may archive articles that are no longer current.
